Bijeljina Roller History History of the Bijeljina Roller starts at the end of Second World War. It is presumed that this breed in it's beginning came into existence by cross breeding of the Oriental roller and Serbian Highflier. So the first results were a highlighted pigeon that rolled more and more. Work with these two breeds lasted into the sixties. Because of the increased interest among breeders for rolling and to change the look of the pigeon it is crossed with the Zagreb Roller. It was with elaborate team work of all pigeon fanciers in the city of Bijeljina that the Bijeljina Roller as we know it today was created. Besides the ability of rolling it possesses the characteristic of a fancy pigeon breed and it comes in all colors. After a long period of work on the appearance of the pigeon and it's performance, in 1989 it was time for forming a "Bijeljina Roller" club. In the following months, after long discussions, the standard was created and the fight for the recognition of the breed. First at state level, of the ex-Yugoslavia. From 1991, the Bijeljina Roller was present at the biggest Yugoslavian pigeon shows (Novi Sad, Sombor etc.). In Novi Sad on 07.09.1992. the Bijeljina Roller was officially recognized as a Yugoslavian breed.
